Dilated capillaries, also known as spider veins, are a common condition in which the walls of the capillaries lose their elasticity and become permanently enlarged. These enlarged capillaries can appear as red, blue or purple lines or webs on the skin and are commonly found on the face, legs and ankles.

Capillaries are small blood vessels that provide oxygen and nutrients to the cells in the body.
