Facial lines and wrinkles
Forehead, glabella, periorbital area, and lower face. XERF stimulates structural collagen remodeling in the dermis — the layer that holds your skin taut.
New in South Surrey · Official Launch Event June 19, 2026
Get visibly tighter skin with no numbing, no needles, and no downtime.

The Science
The XERF system offers the world’s first multifrequency monopolar RF treatment. By combining 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies, XERF delivers energy not just deeper, but exactly where it’s needed — penetrating three layers (shallow, middle, deep) and remodeling the structural collagen scaffolding that thins and loosens with age.
6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies work together in one handpiece. The lower frequency penetrates deeper into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue; the higher tightens the shallow and middle layers. Three depths, one pass.
Continuous cryogen cooling protects the skin surface while controlled heat builds in the dermis. For most patients, no topical numbing is required — Cynosure calls this their Never-Numb™ experience.
XERF reads your skin’s electrical resistance in real time and adjusts energy delivery accordingly. No two faces are the same; the system tailors output to each treatment zone — not a fixed dose.
Energy is delivered in shaped pulses rather than continuous output. Wave Fit™ Pulse adjusts to your skin’s thickness — concentrating the thermal effect where collagen remodeling is needed, sparing what isn’t.
Cynosure’s Spider Tip is engineered for the contoured areas where laxity shows first — around the eyes, along the jawline, under the chin. Smaller footprint, precise vector delivery.
Traditional single-frequency RF delivers energy at one depth; XERF’s dual-frequency delivery (6.78 MHz + 2 MHz) reaches shallow, middle, and deep layers in a single pass. Infographic courtesy Cynosure Lutronic.
See It In Action
The XERF system uses advanced multifrequency monopolar RF energy to tighten skin from the inside out. Unlike traditional treatments, a XERF treatment penetrates the shallow, middle, and deep layers of the skin — stimulating collagen production where it matters most. Its Wave Fit™ pulse technology adjusts to your skin’s thickness for maximum effectiveness, while Integrated Cryogen Delivery (ICD) keeps each pulse comfortable by cooling the skin. The result? A comfortable, safe, and effective treatment that delivers visibly tighter skin with no numbing, no needles, and no downtime.
What It Treats
XERF is cleared in Canada for the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles, lifting the eyebrow, and facial and neck laxity. Every consultation is led by Alivia Stockall, our Certified Medical Aesthetician, under Dr. Iso’s clinical oversight, to confirm XERF is appropriate for your specific concerns.
Forehead, glabella, periorbital area, and lower face. XERF stimulates structural collagen remodeling in the dermis — the layer that holds your skin taut.
Health Canada–cleared to lift the eyebrow. Often the first place upper-face laxity shows, and an area where surgical alternatives carry meaningful downtime.
Cheek descent, nasolabial deepening, perioral softening. The deep-mode 2 MHz frequency reaches the structural layer where mid-face laxity originates.
The submental triangle and lateral neck — areas where loose skin appears earlier than most patients expect, and where surgical revision is most invasive.
Health Canada–cleared for facial lines and wrinkles, brow lifting, and facial and neck laxity. Individual results vary. Treatment plans are personalized after a clinical assessment with our medical team.
The XERF Advantage
XERF was designed to deliver structural change without the recovery curve of surgery, and at a depth most non-surgical RF options can’t reach. Here’s how it shows up in real practice.
Most patients describe XERF as a deep warmth — never sharp, never painful. Integrated Cryogen Delivery cools the skin surface continuously through the session. For most patients, topical numbing isn’t needed.
There’s no anesthetic recovery and no broken skin to manage. Apply makeup, return to work, head to the gym — same day. Many patients book sessions on lunch breaks.
Collagen contraction creates visible tightening during the session. New collagen remodeling builds gradually over 8 to 12 weeks. Results typically last 6 to 12 months with the Cynosure-recommended maintenance protocol.
Wave Fit™ Pulse and the Spider Tip applicator make sessions efficient. Full face and neck typically completes in 60 minutes — no long appointment, no protracted protocol.
How It Compares
There are several established RF and energy-based pathways to address facial and neck laxity. XERF was designed specifically to reach the structural layer at three depths in a single session — at a comfort level most patients tolerate without numbing.
| XERF™ | Thermage™ | Sofwave™ | RF Microneedling | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Technology | Dual-frequency monopolar RF + ICD cooling | Monopolar RF (single frequency) | Multi-depth ultrasound + ICD cooling | Needles + RF through microchannels |
| Target depth | Shallow, middle, and deep — three layers in one pass | Dermis (approx. 2 mm) | Mid-dermis (approx. 2 mm) | Adjustable needle depth, 1–4 mm |
| Anesthesia required | None for most patients | Topical numbing typical | None to minimal | Topical numbing 30–60 minutes |
| Needles / skin breach | No — non-invasive | No | No | Yes — controlled penetration |
| Session length | ~60 minutes (full face + neck) | 60–90 minutes | 30–45 minutes | 60–90 minutes (incl. numbing) |
| Typical downtime | None to minimal | 1–3 days redness | ~1 day redness | 2–5 days redness, swelling |
| When results appear | Immediate + builds 8–12 weeks | Gradual over 6 months | Gradual over 3 months | Gradual over 4–8 weeks |
| Best fit | Structural laxity, multi-depth change without surgery or downtime | Mild surface laxity | Lifting at the mid-dermis | Texture, scarring, mild laxity |
This comparison is general guidance. The right treatment depends on your degree of laxity, your goals, and your health profile. Your consultation with Alivia Stockall, Certified Medical Aesthetician, reviews all pathways — with Dr. Iso’s clinical oversight.

What Sets Us Apart
XERF comes with the full medical-oversight stack. Your consultation and treatment plan are led by Alivia Stockall, our Certified Medical Aesthetician, with Dr. Andras Iso, MD providing clinical oversight — confirming the indication, screening for contraindications, and signing off before treatment proceeds. Not sign-off-at-the-end formality; it’s how the clinic operates.
As a CPSBC-licensed, medically directed hormone and aesthetics clinic, we run the complete Cynosure stack — 6.78 MHz + 2 MHz, Wave Fit™ Pulse, Integrated Cryogen Delivery, Accurate Impedance Feedback, and the Spider Tip applicator — not a stripped-down RF device.
Your XERF plan is coordinated with Morpheus8, LaseMD Ultra, Botox, and hyaluronic fillers — all under one roof, all medically supervised.

Frequently Asked
XERF is the world’s first multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency device. While most RF treatments deliver a single frequency at one depth, XERF combines 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz frequencies in the same handpiece — penetrating three skin layers (shallow, middle, deep) in one session. It also uses Integrated Cryogen Delivery for surface cooling and Accurate Impedance Feedback to adapt energy to your skin in real time. The combination is designed for structural skin tightening — not just surface improvement.
XERF is Health Canada–cleared for facial lines and wrinkles, lifting the eyebrow, and facial and neck laxity. The most common treatment areas are the forehead, periorbital area (around the eyes), cheeks, jawline, submental triangle (under the chin), and lateral neck.
For most patients, no topical numbing is needed. XERF uses Integrated Cryogen Delivery — continuous surface cooling during treatment — so what you feel is a deep warmth rather than discomfort. Cynosure refers to this as their Never-Numb™ experience. Most patients describe sessions as comfortable from start to finish. Sensitivity is reviewed during consultation, and if numbing is preferred for a specific zone, our team can accommodate.
XERF protocols are personalized to your skin and goals, so pricing is confirmed at your consultation rather than published as a flat rate. The Cynosure-recommended Canadian approach is two initial treatments followed by maintenance every six months.
The Cynosure-recommended Canadian protocol is two initial XERF treatments, followed by maintenance every six months. Spacing between the two initial treatments is determined by Alivia, our Certified Medical Aesthetician, under Dr. Iso’s clinical oversight, based on your skin’s response — typically four to twelve weeks apart. Your written treatment plan will be specific to your skin assessment.
Many patients notice an immediate tightening effect from collagen contraction during and right after the session. The structural change — new collagen remodeling — builds gradually over eight to twelve weeks. Results typically last six to twelve months, which is why maintenance every six months is recommended to keep the structural collagen scaffolding remodeling continuously rather than starting from baseline each time.
None to minimal. Most patients return to their regular day immediately. Some experience mild redness or warmth that resolves within a few hours. There are no needles, no broken skin, and no recovery period the way there is with microneedling RF or surgery.
Yes. XERF is Health Canada–cleared for the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles, lifting the eyebrow, and facial and neck laxity. South Surrey Glow is an authorized Cynosure XERF provider, and every treatment is performed under the medical supervision of Dr. Andras Iso, MD, a CPSBC-licensed physician.
Pregnancy, active skin infection in the treatment area, certain implanted electrical devices, recent fillers or surgical procedures in the area, and a few specific medical conditions are contraindications. This is part of why your consultation with Alivia, under Dr. Iso’s clinical oversight, reviews every protocol — to make sure XERF is the right fit, and the right timing, for your individual health profile.
Yes. XERF integrates with most aesthetic protocols — Botox, hyaluronic fillers, HydraFacial, LaseMD Ultra, and Morpheus8 are all commonly paired alongside XERF. Please consult with your practitioner regarding paired treatments.
