🍂 Why autumn is IPL season
IPL works by being absorbed by pigment, so it requires skin whose baseline colour is settled. InMode’s own clinical guidance for Lumecca is specific about why: in spring and summer the skin produces melanin more actively even with minimal sun exposure, and that new melanin raises the risk of thermal injury before it ever shows as a visible tan.
In October your pigment is stable, the summer’s spots are at their most visible, and it is easier to keep treated skin out of the sun afterwards. Start now, and three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart are finished early in the new year.

Lumecca IPL Special — Quick Questions
No. You purchase your treatments in October; the treatments themselves are spaced four to six weeks apart, so treatments started this month run into December and January. That spacing is what makes IPL effective.
Two things at once: brown pigment (sun spots, age spots, freckles, blotchy tone) and red vessels (rosacea flushing, broken capillaries). The face, neck, chest and hands are the areas we treat most often.
Each pulse feels like a quick, light snap with some warmth; a cooled tip and cool gel keep it comfortable without numbing cream. Afterwards, expect mild redness for a few hours. Treated pigment darkens over one to four days, then flakes off over the course of a week; capillaries can take three to four weeks to clear. The clearest results show between four and six weeks.
Lumecca has two filters for lighter and medium skin tones. Deeper skin tones and any recent tan carry more risk with IPL, so we assess your skin and sun history at consultation and will recommend an alternative such as LaseMD ULTRA if IPL is not the safe choice for you.

We kindly ask all hormone therapy patients to plan accordingly and request prescription refills and lab requisitions by Monday, October 5th, 2026.
- Please allow a minimum of 3 to 5 business days for prescription refills and lab requisition requests to be processed.
- Dr. Iso will make every effort to accommodate requests received by October 5th, but we strongly recommend avoiding last-minute requests.
- Our clinic is also closed on Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving, so please expect Dr. Iso to resume his regular routine on Tuesday, October 13th.
